Yay insurance!

Yesterday, we were uninsured. Today, we are insured! Tadah! Mom's been nervous about our lack of health insurance for a long time now, and Athena would be a little nervous about it sometimes, so when a lady (she's actually our same age, but it doesn't feel right calling her "girl," and why would I call anyone "woman"?) explaining about her insurance company, I figured we may as well sign up, since it sounded like a really good deal. And it is! And we checked them out at the Better Business Bureau, so we know they're not a scam.

But all their plans are personalized, so that means two insurance agents came over today. One was the lady who called and the other was her trainer, who is actually our agent, because the first lady is still in training. They were both super nice and super awesome, but we're still kind of freaking out because we just had people in our house. Fortunately, Athena points out, Who Wants to Be a Superhero? is on tonight, so it's all going to be okay.

Not so fortunately, we're a little too frazzled to continue the Fruits Basket Discrepancy Debate right now, so that might have to wait until a little later.

This week has just been so unusual. Maybe tomorrow we can have a normal workday. And maybe watch a movie, or Strawberry Marshmallow...

In other news, we've been working on icons! Sort of. We have a very fun one in the works, but so far the program we're using for animating stuff is making things grainy. We still have a few ideas to prevent that; we just haven't tried them yet. But we're noticing all our really amusing icon ideas are for not-so-happy moods, so we're thinking we need to come up with a few more positive ideas. We're still working on it.

I wish I had more to talk about, because the idea was we were going to ramble on Live Journal, thereby calming down. The only thing that comes to mind is the book we're translating, and I'm pretty sure we're not supposed to talk about that yet. Ah well. Maybe we'll just distract ourselves by ordering from Kinokuniya. I actually don't buy into the whole retail therapy thing, because lately when we buy new toys, we'll get them in the mail, take them out of the package, look at them for a while, and be like, "Okay, back to work." It's usually much more helpful to turn on some music or anime that we already know works. But there does happen to be something at Kinokuniya we want, and I need to keep reminding myself of it or we'll forget about it. Not that we don't want it badly enough to remember, but that we have so many serieses going on with all we're watching and all we're translating that it's easy for it to get buried in the piles of anime and manga stuff strewn about my mind.

Anyway. Today I'm thankful for friendly insurance agents, plans that will let us go to any doctor anywhere in the world, health insurance (hopefully now that we have it doesn't mean we'll suddenly need it), not having urgent need of health insurance while we didn't have it, and being done with insurance agent meetings.
