And now we wait.

We're still waiting to hear back from AX, and for now, we like it that way. I realized that volunteering at AX will probably be a lot like when we helped run Girl Scout Camp back in the day, only with anime and therefore more full of awesomeness, so that part's gotten a lot less scary. It's the part where they have to judge whether or not you'd make a good volunteer that's the scariest right now. Fortunately, we don't have to be there when that happens, except that looking at the Staff Recruitment thread at the forums, it looks like there'll be an interview. But we'll deal with that when we have to.

It seems we did a good job timing-wise as far as being too scared to check our e-mail for fear of responses to our application, though, because we're waiting for shipping confirmation on the awesome birthday present we ordered for ourselves. And by the time we get that confirmation, we'll probably be so back into the e-mail-checking habit that we'll forget we're too scared of it.

In the meantime, we just got a work order from TokyoPop with a sooner deadline than CLAMP no Kiseki, so it looks like we get a short reprieve. Yay! Not that we're suffering that badly--after the Fruits Basket fanbook, this is a lot easier. But it's always nice to get a break from fanbooky things. Less lonely, too.

Today I'm thankful for the wind dying down, getting to see George Takei on that new NBC improv-ish show, Oreo coming to keep us company, having time to calm down before getting scary e-mails, and weather tracking systems.
