General Conference

Everybody's talking about General Conference today! So now I'm under peer pressure.

So far it looks like Elder Holland's talk is winning for favorite, though really they're not competing, duh. But it was a thoroughly awesome talk. He started talking about how we need to be more careful what we say, and I was like, "Yes! Steve really needs to hear this talk!" (based on something he said yesterday). And then as it went on, I was like, "Oh, I guess I needed to hear this talk." Duh. Like how he talks about whining making any situation worse, I remembered some of my recent LJ entries where I'm like, "Now I want to whine!" Eheh.

I'm also really glad there was a talk on the importance of hymns. It was during that talk that the Jehovah's Witnesses showed up. Athena suggested inviting them in to watch, but I didn't have the guts. Alas. Next time, I should at least say that the reason I'm busy is that I'm watching General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and not just say, "I'm kind of in the middle of something," and glance at the TV. Today, I lose. Oh well.

In other news, we caved and ordered the rest of Gundam Seed and all of Gunparade March. We want to say that now we really are done ordering stuff online, because all our boxes are full. And the more we thought about Gunparade March, the less we could resist buying it. It's sooooo good! And Atsushi is sooooo cute! It's so rare to hear Akira Ishida playing someone so incompetent, and he does it so well.

We also got our Wildlife Explorer stuff today! Whee! The backpack doesn't have a logo on it, though, which is kind of sad. We could sew our Disney Movie Club patch onto it and make it a Disney Movie Club backpack, but then where would be our Wildlife Explorer backpack? And then how could we be wildlife explorers? (Though chances of us going anywhere to explore wildlife in the near future are very slim, despite being only about an hour away from Yosemite.)

Today I'm thankful for awesome conference talks (for anybody interested who doesn't already know, there will be two more sessions tomorrow at 10am and 2pm MDT, and live streams can be found here), shiny new wildlife explorer stuff, random Disneyland flashbacks, the fact that the smell of garlic will eventually dissipate, and, something I'm very thankful for that I forgot to mention yesterday, the fact that Sakuraba has shaved and his hair seems to be growing back.
