First, a retelling of a brief conversation we had last night. I said something, can't remember what it was even about, that caused Celeste to look at me and say, "Okay, Pride."

I thought about that for a second, and then said, "I don't want to be Pride.

Pride is the ugly one."

"No, he's not," Athena responds, "Gluttony is the ugly one."

"Yeah, but I still don't want to be Pride. He's the second ugly one."

"You can be Greed."

"Hmm... Greed is pretty sexy, but I think I want to be a girl. Then I'd have to be Lust or Sloth."

"Yeah, they don't give you very many options."

"I guess I'll be Sloth then," I said, since I don't think of myself as being very lusty, but I am rather lazy.

In her confusion, Celeste, who hasn't seen FullMetal Alchemist, could only reply, "You guys are weird."

Maybe you had to be there.

Anyway, today we got up in time to watch Legion of Super-Heroes, which I'm still not sure I like very much. The character designs still haven't grown on me, and I'm not sure how I feel about a guy who normally does dubs being Superman. (For the curious, he's the English dub voice of Sasuke in Naruto, and I think Goku in Saiyuki Reload, but I'd have to do a bit more searching to get confirmation on that.) We're kind of with Lightning Lad--what kind of superheroes are they if they constantly have to go to this one guy from the past?

Then we went to the grocery store, and we still had a bunch of time left before Danny Phantom was on, so we decided it was a good time to check out our computer's DVD playing capabilities. We were already sitting at the computer, and we didn't want to get up, so we grabbed the one DVD we keep at our computer, because it came with a CD we bought. It's a collection of the opening and ending sequences from Gundam Seed which of course came with the CD with all those songs on it.

And! we were very happy to see that it worked! Because, as you may have figured out, this particular DVD is region 2. We've had it for almost three years now, and had never seen it before. This is most awesome. Especially! because it means we can now play our Saiyuki: Kibou no Zaika DVD, which we've also had for a long time and not been able to watch. At the time, we were convinced we'd be able to afford a Japanese PS2 soon, but then Mom got engaged and threw all our plans askew. So that's what we'll probably be doing tonight.

Sadly, we still can't play our Saiyuki Reload Gunlock fighting game or Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, but one day...

We're not sure how long our computer will stay on region 2. It didn't ask us about region at all when we put the DVD in. baranoneko tells us we can change the region about five times, and then it'll stick on whatever we have it on last. But she also tells us that when we burn DVDs, she's pretty sure they'll be region free, so we'd be able to watch them on our normal DVD player either way. So the only drawback to keeping it on region 2 (unless it's a region-free player, which we still don't know) is that we won't be able to get screen captures from all our region 1 DVDs to make awesome wallpapers with. We'll have to look into things some more.

Today I'm thankful for having Fruit Loops again, having ingredients for oatmeal cookies, finally being able to watch our region 2 DVDs (both of them!), kitties coming to say hi, and getting to mess with our new DVD player some more.
