It's been a long day...

Today has been interesting. When we got to Sunday School, the guy in charge of... I guess Sunday School... came to Athena and complimented her jacket, and I was like, "Dude, what do you want?" (in my head, not out loud). And then he asked if she would be willing to substitute teach in Gospel Essentials next week. We're trying to be better about serving and stuff, so she agreed, and then we find out the lesson is on eternal marriage, of all things.

I'm not quite sure how to explain this. The reason it would be difficult for one of us to teach a lesson on eternal marriage actually has nothing to do with our current marital prospects. We're both very happy with being single right now. But with all the stuff involved with our parents' divorce, it's kind of a sore subject.

Then a member of the bishopric called each of us out of Relief Society to give us new callings. I was really worried about this, because, as I've said, I love being the Relief Society pianist, because I'm lazy and don't want to do anything harder. Then I found out what it was, and it's totally something I can handle, so it's all good. I just hope they don't release me from being the RS pianist.

After church, we had to go find the guy in charge of Sunday School so Athena could get the teachers' manual for Gospel Essentials. While he was doing that, another guy told us that on Tuesday, he was going to take one (because he only has room for one more person in his car) of us to the bishops' storehouse. We thought that was kind of cool, since we need to do more service anyway to justify all our mooching off of the ward. We said we'd talk to Celeste and maybe we could all go, but Celeste didn't like that idea, especially because she seems entertained by the fact that this guy will actually take girls to the bishops' storehouse on dates. Ugh.

Not that we're opposed to dating, but one, we're opposed to dating just for dating's sake and this guy is about to go on his mission so it's obviously not going to go anywhere, and two, the idea of one of us going on a date while the other one doesn't is very sad.

And that was our interesting day at church. We went to Mom's place to have a late celebration of Celeste's birthday, and that was pretty fun for the most part, but I ended up being ticked off for no discernible reason. Probably just a lot of little things, which are continuing to tick me off right now.

Today I'm thankful for finally getting to play Haunted Mansion Clue, new callings that aren't scary, being home again, finding a Teen Titans icon community (though we haven't taken any icons yet), and getting to hear all the Teen Titans sing the English translation of the theme song.
