It's all in the timing

We managed to get almost an hour of work done before Celeste woke up and turned on the TV. Normally, there wouldn't have been a problem with Celeste turning on the TV, but my natural curiosity led me out into the living room to see what she was watching. I also like to think it's a good idea to check in with people in the morning and figure out what's going on for the rest of the day.

Anyway, when we got into the living room, an episode of Gilmore Girls was just ending. I sat down on the couch, and we watched the end, and then Celeste offered me the remote. Athena told her we were probably going to get back to work soon, so she took the remote back and changed it to Nickelodeon, saying that Fairly OddParents should be on. But instead of Fairly OddParents, it was Danny Phantom: Reality Trip. We can't ever pass up a Danny Phantom special (unless we just saw it the previous day, and sometimes even then we'll still watch it), so we lost an hour of productivity.

That turned out to not be a problem, because reformatting Saiyuki only took a total of three and a half hours. But because of our bad timing, we finished right about the time TokyoPop closes, so we missed the chance to guarantee getting it to our boss before the work day was over. It would have been awesome to turn it in the day after we got the book, but that's just because we like to show off. We'll turn it in first thing tomorrow instead.

We reviewed our financial situation, and as it turns out, it would very most likely be best not to get a new computer just yet. It's really not that big a deal, since I love our computer. It's just that when it looks like you're going to get a shiny new toy, and then you find out you're not, it's a little sad. I want get a smaller new toy as consolation, but we don't currently have any money for that, either. But it was fun working on Saiyuki again, and we have Chex Mix for tonight, so really we just need to cheer up.

That also answers the other question we had. See, we were talking to Celeste about Mikomi Con, and she's totally cool with driving us down there, and even attending, but she says she's not attending a convention without a costume. I was going to post an entry asking for people's thoughts as to good costumes for Celeste, but we don't have money for that, either. And here we were finally going to have another group. Sad. But on the bright side, I don't have to sew!

Today I'm thankful for being able to take Danny Phantom breaks, being able to work on Saiyuki, having finished another project, having Chex Mix for tonight, and more letters from blackhope
