I'd like to thank the Academy...

I just want to say that we really appreciate everyone's comments about the whole Thanksgiving thing. I honestly didn't think it would be that big a deal, though that after all the entries I've made about it, it may seem like I think it is a big deal. We literally have almost nothing else going on in our lives. (You may have noticed all our other entries are about the anime we're watching.) Although it is true that those phonecalls and e-mails from Steve did have me pretty worked up. Any future developments will be limited to lj-cuts so you don't have to read them if you don't want to.

In happier news, we got a letter from our best friend cousin who's on his mission in Japan today. He gave us his e-mail address, so I'm going to assume that it's alright for us to e-mail him. That will make things so much easier, though I'm not sure if it will be that good, as mostly all we have to talk about is anime and video games, and he says he's not allowed to talk about them, and when he does, all the other missionaries point at him and yell, "かんけない!" (his words, not mine--he's still learning. I'm guessing it's supposed to be 関係(かんけい)ない). (Also, if anyone's wondering, it's read "kankei nai" and it means "there's no relation," or "that has nothing to do with [what we're talking about]".) And he wants a copy of the Adventures of the Mini-GFs. I don't think that's appropriate missionary reading.

It kind of reminds me of when we were visiting the sister missionaries and all we could think of to talk about was cartoons. I felt really bad because it didn't seem all that spiritual, though we were listening to a CD of primary songs. Also, I think we can find a 関係(relation), but would that be corrupting him as a missionary?

So tonight I'm thankful for friendly comments (even the ones I don't want to hear and the ones I'm not sure how to respond to), Jonathan's letter, Mini-GFs, Tea Time ni Youkoso, and NEO GENESIS ~Ima, Hikari no Hou e~.
