It's like they read my mind!

So you know how we've always been like, "Wow, I like it when Hoshi-san sings, especially as Goku. One of these days, we're going to compile a bunch of Hoshi-san songs onto one or two CDs."

Well we have.

And now, according to Kazuya Minekura, and apparently Zero-Sum magazine and Animate and various other places that we have yet to check (or no ability to check), January is when they will be releasing "SON GOKU'S SONG COLLECTION." (I would change the color of the text like Minekura-sensei did, but I don't know the code and I'm too lazy to find out.) Anyway, EEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Actually, this news would normally be very very happy, but right now I'm more nervous than anything else. I think it has something to do with our complete inability to buy new toys for the past several weeks. "decade"'s been out for DAYS now and we don't have it yet. After three whole days! We really need to figure out how to increase our income.

So why do we care anyway? We already have all the Goku songs! Except why would they make a whole CD with just four songs? ("Proud of my loneliness" was released by a different company, remember) They're not! They're adding two whole new ones! Aaaaaaaaahhhhhvvv!!!

Minekura-sensei commented that she got the feeling that if she tells Hoshi-san that Goku is really cool when he's singing (worded in such a way in Japanese as to say that he's not really that cool any other time), he would start sulking again. Kind of wondering about the "again" part, but only kind of, since she's mentioned going drinking with him on more than one occasion. I'm jealous of both of them. But not for being able to drink alcohol, because ew.

In other news, I was kind of planning out a whole entry for yesterday that didn't get posted because we were playing Final Fantasy IX until one-thirty. I think I'll post that later though, because I don't think it really fits here.

Problems are as real as you make them

So yesterday. I've mentioned a few times that we've been a little bit concerned about our ability to pay October rent, so I think both of us made that part of our fast for this month. We were also a little anxious waiting for our ride to church, so we went outside to wait, and Athena figured that while we were out there, she might as well check the mail, since she hadn't the day before. Lo and behold, there was a check.

This was actually pretty confusing (but not unwelcome!) because we thought we had already gotten the check for the last thing we turned in before AX. So we checked all our invoices, and apparently we had indeed forgotten that we were getting another check. And it's enough that not only will we be able to pay rent, but also bills, and we'll probably even be able to buy groceries. So maybe our emergency was caused by our own absent-mindedness, and technically was non-existent, but it still feels like a miracle, and we are very grateful. And I'm very happy that we have some breathing room to figure out what to do about January rent, but we still can't be slackers, which kind of makes me sad.

In other news, we've decided to become independent film-makers. Or we thought it might be cool, anyway. For FHE, they had all the "families" make a movie and they edited them all together and we watched them tonight. Athena and I chose not to participate in the one film that people asked us to participate in (we didn't want to be onscreen, especially because we weren't sure how we might end up being portrayed), and so we didn't really have the right to complain about any of the directorial decisions made...but we did anyway.

I like to blame it on our perfectionism. There were some really good movies, but for every one of them, I'm sitting there like, "You know, he would give off that attitude better if he was leaning back instead of forward," or, "If they wanted fake Chinese subtitles, they should have talked to us!" etc. etc. The fake CPR was good though. Sadly, they're not going to do this again for a year, by which time we hope to be in Japan, or at least somewhere with cooler summers. I am very thankful that we got to go to FHE today, because we were kind of losing it again.

And we're still watching Infinite Ryvius. After ten episodes, I'm not very disturbed, but in the Ryvius Illusion extras, they were talking about how they don't have any sad or frustrating stories, thereby implying that the actual series did. And then I remember how Celeste said the Birthmark episode of Teen Titans was really dark, and I was like, "was it?" because I honestly couldn't tell. But there are no decapitated talking pig-heads so far, so I think we might be okay... but you never can tell. And man, it's no wonder Tetsu Shiratori doesn't like Hoshi-san--Hoshi-san's characters are always evil to Shiratori-san's.

By the way, Ryvius Illusion is what they called the little Flash animations they had on...I think it was the Infinite Ryvius website back when the series was coming out in Japan. Or was it when they were being released on DVD? We had heard about them from the guy who told us about Infinite Ryvius, and we went to watch them because he assured us it didn't have any spoilers so far as he could tell, and because we wanted to hear Hoshi-san. They are completely insane, of course. I was thinking how sad it was that the site's probably gone by now, so I was happy to see that they're extras on the DVDs. I bet I could understand them way better than I did then even if we didn't have the subtitles on...

What!? Infinite Ryvius is hard! Man, even with the subtitles...
