The twin princesses from the magical planet are trying to kill me.

It's been kind of strange this year, planning for AX, because there aren't nearly as many serieseses that we're really excited about cosplaying, so the list of new costumes to make was relatively short. We're not exactly sure why this is, because there are plenty of serieses that we like, but for some reason not a whole lot that make us want to cosplay them.

Well, I guess that's not exactly true, either, because almost any fantasy series I watch makes me want to cosplay it, but since there's only two of us, it's harder to decide characters, so we just ignore the cosplay bug. Because when you have a big group to cosplay in, it's a lot easier to come up with a group of people who would be hanging out together, but when there's only two of you, it's kind of like, "But why would Kadzuki be hanging out with Ban unless at least Ginji was there?" for example.

But then a series comes along with an obvious pair of characters, who are even twins, who have the most adorable costumes ever, and hard as I try to say, "Those costumes are too complicated; I don't want to deal with them," the more we watch the series, the harder it gets. You'd think I would have learned my lesson. I even told myself that it wouldn't be as fun because the recognition factor would be low. But today we broke down, especially since Athena pointed out that the costumes are so cute that people would take pictures whether they recognized us or not.

And so I have potentially doomed myself. It all comes down to whether or not we can find the right material. I'm either doomed (if we find the gown material), slightly doomed (if we find material for the other outfits), or not doomed (if we can't find material). Stay tuned for the exciting(?) conclusion!

Oh! And if anyone wants to see what the costumes look like, they can go here: FushigiBoshi no FutagoHime

PS: The sock puppet extra on The Incredibles DVD is totally awesome.
