Not quite so bored

Yesterday evening we were bored nigh unto death. Death, I say! We had just finished watching 8 Simple Rules and realized we didn't have the brain power to work on a translation of a space opera (something we'd agreed to do for Spectre and have been putting off for like ever with the excuse that we had paying work to do), like we had originally planned, so we had no idea what to do with ourselves.

We decided to get back to work translating Final Fantasy X monologues, but then came across the Anime Tenchou stuff we'd been doing months and months ago and decided to finish the track of that we had been working on. And it was really easy and I wonder why on earth we didn't finish it sooner. We'll be posting that soon-ish; we need to figure out what we want to do with sounds and translate CoCo's character description and voice actor comments.

Then we thought we'd work on Tidus's monologue, but we couldn't figure out how to get the wording to be as awesome as it is in the Japanese version, because, as I mentioned earlier, our brain power was running low. So I decided that Tidus is stupid and was bored again. I almost wrote another LJ entry, but everyone was saved from my spamming by Athena's suggestion that we rewatch some Host Club. That's never a bad idea.

And then we watched Danny Phantom, and it was Fanning the Flames (the episode with the Cramtastic thingie thing). Every time that episode is on and Tucker says, "The volume of the sphere is equal to the square of the radius of the base times pi times the height," we both think, "Noooo! That's the volume of a cylinder!"

There was another geeky thing that always happens that I was thinking of mentioning here, since it's in the same vein, but I forgot what it was.

Today there was a lot less boredom and a lot more video games. We literally spent like four and a half hours in the Omega Ruins in FFX. We rarely spend that much time consecutively playing video games at all, let alone playing just one dungeon. I'm not sure why that was less boring, but somehow it was.

Oh! And we watched the Princess Bride last night for the first time in a few years. Westley is still as sexy as ever, but I'm not sure if I like his attitude. I guess it's understandable, though, since he was under a lot of stress, and death and stuff.

Today I'm thankful for being able to save anime episodes onto our computer, our sink being all shiny, more Guests of Honor being announced for AX, pretty lighting, and technology.

EDIT: I remember the other geeky thing! It's actually part of why we were watching the Princess Bride to begin with. Whenever you switch Auron into battle and he says, "As you wish," I think, "Aw, I love you too!"
