In the meantime, these last few days have been very unusually social for us. One of the friends we invited to our island for a meteor shower last night wasn't able to make it due to technical difficulties caused by our absent-mindedness, so she came over today instead! And we had a very lovely time chatting (via text message), but what with this and last night, our introvert batteries are sooooo drained right now.
We also got to play more Splatoon with Grawp. He really seems to have gotten tired of the "paint everything" strategy, so when we're doing turf wars, he'll just find a high place to camp out with his charger and shoot at whoever (mostly Athena, if they're on opposing teams). It was really cute when his dad came along and started coaching him. "You'll never hit anyone that way! Start peppering!" ...Alas, chargers are not ideal for peppering.
The children have also gotten more adamant that the rollers are rolling pins. Hermie corrected Athena when Athena said the name of her weapon. Ah, kids.
Today I'm thankful for finishing our work quota today, our friend finally making it to our island (then we visited her island and met Tybalt, and I was like, "Tiger!!!!" I like tigers), making it safely through several salmon runs, the sound effect in Animal Crossing when you're wearing zori and running or walking on hard surfaces, and finishing the first season of Winx.
