It's mostly about the original Gowther. Wizard Gowther or however that ended up being translated. I saw him in the ending sequence, and he was being all scary and last-boss-like, and I was like, "Ooh, I wonder who they got to play him!" And I was trying to think of guys who tend to play last boss type characters, and I mostly only thought of Keiji Fujiwara, and I was like, "But he's not really available anymore." I forgot, of course, that this season was made like a year or so ago.
So then he finally showed up, and it was Keiji Fujiwara, and I was like, "He's back from the dead!" And it was kind of heartwarming, and the way it happens in the series--Master Mage Gowther was locked away in demon prison forever, but he manages to come back--it was kind of like life imitating art, or art imitating life, or...something. I don't know. And then he said, "Yeah, I'm just back to do this one last important thing, and then I have to die," and I was like, "!!!!"
It just made the whole thing more poignant. And the voice he uses for Gowther is so warm and gentle. It was sad but in a happy kind of way.
Today I'm thankful for finishing our ideal work quota, getting to watch more Seven Deadly Sins today, getting to look forward to new October stuff in Animal Crossing, Edens Zero not taking a super long time this week, and the forecast saying it should be cooling down over the next several days.
