Today we talked about Korihor and the dad of the family made sure his youngest kids understood the story by equating Korihor's philosophy to saying it's okay to eat candy all the time. It was really cute. That inspired the mom of the family to say, "So let's have some candy!" which led to the shocking discovery that, despite the father's sweet tooth, there was no candy anywhere in the house. All they had was dried fruit! But that's okay. We have our own candy; we don't need to sponge off of them. They did treat us to peanut butter and honey sandwiches, though. They are quite hospitable.
After lunch, we watched The Illusionist. ...I'm not sure I really have anything to say about it, but it was a pretty okay movie.
Today I'm thankful for getting to partake of the sacrament again, getting to hang out with friends, getting to talk about the gospel, not being trapped near the Arctic Circle (we're reading The Adventures of Captain Hatteras), and having everything worked out for our temple recommend interviews.
