You see, Grawp has finally gotten the Isle of Armor expansion for Pokemon Sword, and he was super excited to talk about it. He told us all about the three challenges, and the super fast Slowpokes, and the Tower of Darkness. He said if there's any Pokemon we need to get from the Isle of Armor, he has got us covered.
For our part, we had already decided that we were going to let him have all the fun first, because we know it's more exciting to tell people about stuff when they're not like, "Yeah, I know." We even wanted to let him catch all the Pokemon first so he could show off the cool Pokemons he caught. So mostly, we were contenting ourselves with trying to find Pokemon we think he needs to complete his Pokedex, but the problem is, with all the exciting new stuff going on, we couldn't get him to focus for the two minutes it would have taken to tell us what he's missing. He knows he's missing Drampa, and he insists that's the only Pokemon he needs from us, but we can only get Drampa when there's a thunderstorm at the Lake of Outrage, and that was not the weather there today.
Eventually it got to the point where Grawp was like, "You have to see such-and-such!" and we were like, "So you're saying we should go to the Isle of Armor?" and he was like, "YES!!!"
So that's what we did, and now we're even more torn about what to do with ourselves in Pokemon. We've already caught a Buneary and a Fomantis and a Klefki, and a Fletchinder and a Jigglypuff...and now that we've seen all these super cute Pokemon, we want to evolve them!!! And catch all the rest, because they give us a whole new Isle of Armor Pokedex, which we have half-completed already because we've completed our Galar Pokedex. What I'm saying is, it's hard to resist the temptation to catch new Pokemon, but we told ourselves we would let Grawp catch all the shiny new Pokemon. Fortunately we can distract ourselves with the Diglett sidequest.
For now, we figure the exciting thing for Grawp would be to see our reactions to the story, so when he calls next time, we'll go on with the story and make sure to react out loud. And in the meantime, we will distract ourselves with Animal Crossing, which is not hard to do at all. We just convinced Graham to move to our island, and I'm not sure how I feel about that guy. He's like...the type of personality I dislike the most. But at least he's entertaining about it? Kind of a "annoying but funny" sort of thing, I guess. I almost want to see him get into fights with Pinkie. I don't know if that's a thing.
Today I'm thankful for meeting our quota at work despite distractions, having some super cute new Pokemon, good times running from Sharpedo, having pink roses next to our house in Animal Crossing, and the yummy cookies we had for dinner.
