Our day off is over, and we are a little sad. I think we made good use of it, though. We went to Target, which was simultaneously more and less terrifying than our regular grocery store. Can't really put my finger on why, but I think the less-conspicuous "stand here" markers and lack of plastic partitions made it feel a little less like a prison. But there were more people, so slightly harder to avoid...except that the store was bigger. At any rate, we're done, and that's the important thing.

We also got all our tax info ready for our accountant, and now we know why we've been going through so many more broke spurts lately. It's tough, because on the one hand, we desperately need to work less, but on the other, we still have bills to pay. Still, we had a couple of series last year that took a lot of time and didn't make us a lot of money, but those projects are over, so hopefully things will be better this year.

More importantly, we decided to check out Toei's global YouTube channel! Tadah! We wanted to check out the original original Power Rangers, but for some reason those videos claimed to not be available. So instead, we checked out another series that caught our attention during our search for Power Rangers: Fushigi Shoujo Nile na Totomesu. They translate it simply as Thutmose. And basically this girl goes to visit her father's family tomb, and there are sphinxes and a pyramid, and she and her little sister are like, "What the?" and her mom's like, "Didn't you know? Your father's ancient ancestors come from Egypt!" And we're like, "Oh, of course! The famous Egyptian Nakajimas!" You can tell from the attitude of the show that that was the desired reaction, though, and so we think it's pretty great. Long story short, the girl accidentally freed an ancient evil, and now she must transform into Thutmose to capture and re-seal the 51 evil demons of the Nile.

We also caught the first episode of the new season of Fruits Basket, featuring Kakeru Manabe! Woohoo! I always liked that character. He was really well cast, too--the guy playing him did an amazing job capturing his eccentricity. And! we realized that he's Takeo in My Love Story!! and the guy who plays Yuki is Sunakawa, so the friends are reunited. Awwww.

Today I'm thankful for getting the things we need at Target (the regular brand of cat food we get for the strays was sold out, though, so hopefully they don't mind the substitute), getting to check out Thutmose, getting to see the new season of Fruits Basket, being happy with the casting for Kakeru, and also getting to watch three episodes of Miraculous.
