We did it!!

We survived! The November crunch is now officially over, and we're taking the next two days easy! Our December workload is not quite so light as we'd like it to be, but for now we're pretending it's light enough. (It might actually be light enough, but there are some unknowns that make it impossible to accurately predict at this juncture.) We found out that the deadline we thought was tonight at seven isn't actually until tomorrow, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but it doesn't really matter, because the point is, we finished the book today and now we don't have to look at it anymore. And that is very good news.

I'm trying to think if there was anything that happened at Disneyland with Gaston and Alice yesterday that I wanted to talk about, but my brain is mostly just full of, "Yay, we can stop working!" and "boeeeeee", so I really don't know. We watched the Christmas fireworks, they were really good.

Oh! Now I remember! It wasn't good. See, last year, and maybe the year before, too, they had this neat little toy soldier drum corps do a show in California Adventure for the holiday season, and it was small, but it was really cool, and we loved it! I guess it got a lot of good publicity or something, because they decided to "plus" it. Now it has the four toy soldier drummers, and Mickey and Pals (including Clarabelle Cow!), and a bunch of characters from Toy Story 4 (I know it's specifically Toy Story 4 because of "Empowered" Bo Peep) and Mr. & Mrs. Incredible and Frozone. And they have a new song that they play super loud on the speakers, with the live drummers that you can't really hear anymore because the rest of the music is so much more grandiose, and the whole team comes and just kind of grooves to the beat and invites everybody else to dance in this little area that's at an intersection so it's right in the way of all the foot traffic. Then they finish the song...and they leave. It's just the one song. And then they play exit music while the performers all leave, and then when that's over, they play Exit Music Part 2. And that's the show!

We were unhappy about it, but then we went to the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail and jumped on the Jingle Bridge, and then we were too tired to worry about it. There is a theory, since we looked at the sign that posted showtimes, and the showtimes listed did not match the time of this performance, that maybe the real performance happens at the showtimes listed, and the drummers can be the neat little toy soldier drummers that were so cool in years past. We may have to do some research to find out. But in the meantime, we're going to get some sleep.

Today I'm thankful for finally being done with that translation (we started it so many weeks ago...), getting to see "Believe in Holiday Magic," having a much lighter work quota tomorrow, having time to catch up on our anime viewing, and Page sitting on my chair after dinner to make sure we weren't going to overwork ourselves.
