Anyway. Our plans to maybe not work tomorrow were thwarted by simulpubs, including an especially difficult chapter of UQ Holder!. Very interesting chapter, but dang, it was tough. But I've already shelved that aspect of my life, so I don't even remember what was so hard about it. Mostly just a lot of talking and exposition. ...Oh yeah, and at the very end, there was a specific term based on complex metaphysical Taoist concepts, so that was fun. We don't write translation notes for this series, though, so when it goes live, you'll have to Google it yourselves.
The upshot of it all is that we didn't finish our Hatsu*Haru translation...and we agreed to have it done by the end of the month. And since the end of the month is Sunday, that means we better finish it tomorrow. Ah, ha, ha! But Hatsu*Haru is not an innocent victim in all of this, let me tell you. This volume has waaaaay more translation notes than any previous volume! And we get the feeling that most of them are to explain culture and references all made within about ten pages or so. Fortunately, they were mostly things we had noted before, so the majority of them were just copy and paste jobs, but we had to go find the notes we'd written in the past...which wasn't too hard, thanks to the search feature on our computer, but still took up time, and probably contributed to our inability to finish today. Ah well, it's a fun series, so it shouldn't stress us out too much tomorrow.
Today I'm thankful for getting to see the Miraculous season 2 finale again, having a lovely chat with Gaston on the phone, finishing that chapter of UQ Holder oh my gosh, Kai's usual drama, and getting to sleep in tomorrow.
