At any rate, having Kingdom Hearts on the brain was not really a good thing when we started working on a translation dealing heavily with Tsubasa Chronicle, which, as we have previously stated, we are convinced is CLAMP does Kingdom Hearts. And then Syaoran starts talking, and we think of Sora, and it's just all sorts of painful.
But that's okay! Because our home teacher's coming over today to take us to the post office, and even if the package won't help us play Kingdom Hearts, which is likely, it will probably give us something else to obsess over. So we called him at two, because yesterday he said that if he didn't come over by two to call him, and when I called he said he would be available by four-thirty. That's okay, half an hour should be enough time to get to the post office to pick up a package.
We decided to try those caramel apples while we waited, which was a good idea at the time, but I really should have recognized my limit. That coating was horribly, evilly sweet. It was really good, actually, but I decided I might as well finish off the whole apple, since I was more than halfway done when I started getting sick. So I had some pretzels, and I'm feeling better now, but then I was impatient to go to the post office and pumped full of sugar. And then we found out that, not only was Cartoon Network not showing Foster's this afternoon, but Teen Titans has been ousted by One Piece. So much for distractions.
We got back to work anyway, because the more work we have done, the less work we have to do later, and it was something to do while we waited. And then, at four-thirty, our home teacher called and said he would be here in twenty to twenty-five minutes. Normally, my reaction, after hanging up, because if he was held up with something, I can't really blame him, so I'm not mad, would be to sigh heavily and just get back to work. But, since I've been impatient to get to the post office and pumped full of sugar, the reaction was more like, "GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
So then I went and played some nice, loud, intense music on the piano (Bells of Notre Dame is excellent for stress relief), and now I'm feeling a little better. When our home teacher got here, he told us that his parents don't know where the drivers for the printer are, but we can get them at the Canon website, and, after we reminded him that we needed to go to the post office, not the bank, he apologized profusely, and it would be all fine except that he's going out of town tomorrow, which means we'll have to find someone else who doesn't work full time to drive us to the post office, or wait until Wednesday.
And in the meantime, I'll just keep banging my head against the wall.
On the one hand, I feel like maybe we should just break out Chain of Memories, but on the other hand, I feel like that will only make things worse. Especially because, if anything reminds us of Kingdom Hearts, for some reason, it always starts with Deep Jungle.
In other news, today we had Adventures in Pancake-Making! Tadah! It wasn't entirely unsuccessful, and we got some pretty decent pancakes out of it. And the syrup was really good. So today wasn't an entire loss. And we still have FHE to go to. And Danny Phantom will be airing at its regular time again.
Today I'm thankful for pancake flour, sugar-neutralizing pretzels, sheet music for The Bells of Notre Dame, constructive outlets, and Lingo.
