Still dreaming

Today has certainly been eventful. We went to the Disneyland Office, and we were prepared with rations as usual! This time, instead of our usual peanut butter sandwiches, we took peanut butter sandwiches that we made with the chocolate chip pancakes we made from last night. We didn't try them, though, because they seemed messier than regular peanut butter sandwiches, and we felt like we might commit inadvertent acts of peanut terrorism. And we didn't stay long enough to need all of our rations--we also brought travel sized Famous Amos cookie containers, and Reese's Stuffed With Pieces. The latter felt like less of a potential peanut hazard, because Reese's peanut butter usually stays together pretty well. But we did get chocolate all over our hands, because it's summer.

We saw Farley a few times, and I feel like we learned something new that I felt might be worth reporting on, but now I can't remember what it was. Trolley drivers are called whips. That's one thing we learned.

And we finished our work! Tadah! So we left the park (after saying hi to Farley one more time), and we came home to discover a package with our Sailor Moon comp copies! Wooooohoooooo!!! ...Frankly, it's one of those things that feels exciting at first and then reminds me why I don't really get excited about things. I mean, it's still exciting, but we pulled the books out of the box, we posted a picture on Facebook, and now what? It's not like we're going to read them over and over. What we're more interested in is what everyone else thinks of the translation. So it's still exciting in that it's proof that this is really happening, and a sign of hope that we will get to find out what people think, and that maybe it will start a dialogue about what really makes a translation good. But in and of itself, it's really just nice. But oh my goodness, the books are so sparkly.

Then we got another notice from the management asking us not to feed the cats. At least this time, whoever wrote it had the sense not to be offensive. Athena (who read it) said it seemed like it was basically the same stuff as last time, only they took out the insulting stuff. So that's progress anyway. It's frustrating, though, because there's not a whole lot we can do, other than not feeding the cats, which is really all they're asking us to do, but we're afraid it will only lead to sick, underfed cats who will now go dumpster diving. If their concern is about dumpster-diving, disease-spreading felines, then the problem is easily solved by giving the cats something that won't require them to go to the disease-ridden dumpster for food. Sigh.

Today I'm thankful for Sailor Moon comp copies! Eeeeeeeeee!, another successful day at the Disneyland office, getting to see Farley and meet some other Classic Disney fans, getting to go to Pizzaterian for dinner, and having time to watch Ace of Diamond.
