Surviving

Our main goal today was to rest and eat as much as we could. These two goals were sort of mutually thwarted, though, because we are usually running low on food on Saturdays, which means we can't eat very much unless we expend the energy to go grocery shopping. So we got some exercise anyway, and it turned out to be a very good thing, because I think we're now prepared to make sure we get enough to eat this week. People keep wondering how we can stay so thin and eat the foods we eat. Well the secret is we don't eat nearly enough of them, a state of affairs that has recently been facilitated by our lack of time to do anything but work. And of course all the extra work exacerbated the hunger, and it's just been a very vicious cycle, let me tell you. But now we have extra food for this week, and maybe we can get our calorie intake up to that of normal people. Failing that, we also have lemonade mix, which will hopefully at least help us stave off the low-blood-sugar sickness.

We also had to do laundry, which meant expending even more energy, and it was hot today, which didn't help. But now we have clean clothes, so it all worked out in the end. While our laundry was in the machines, we watched more of that Monkey show, and our current opinion of it is that it's based on the writer's Saiyuki AU fan fiction. We like it well enough as long as the main character isn't talking. She gets on our nerves, and it's difficult to say exactly why.

Today I'm thankful for finding things at the grocery store to help us with our food dilemma, our nephew singing Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo for us (saw the video on Facebook; it was ridiculously cute), getting a reasonable amount of rest, getting to watch some TV, and getting to read some manga.
